Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Cain
Hi Jessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Right after high school, I went to CU Denver—not really knowing what I wanted to do, just knowing that college was the next step. While in school, I worked for my dad’s company and quickly realized that sitting at a desk all day doing computer work was not for me.
A friend mentioned she was going to cosmetology school, but just for the skincare side of things. That piqued my interest, and before I knew it, I withdrew from CU and jumped headfirst into esthetics. I never looked back!
I spent years trying all the things—figuring out where I fit in the industry learning as much as I could. Eventually, I transitioned to booth rental and started my own business. Then life threw its curveballs: three kids, a divorce, and a global pandemic. Through it all, I knew I needed to stop holding myself back and finally take the leap.
The turning point? A drive to Boulder, listening to a podcast about branding, when the idea for Three Little Birds Aesthetics clicked into place. From that moment, my focus shifted to not only growing my business but also creating a space where other service professionals could thrive. I’m passionate about building a supportive, collaborative environment—one that helps estheticians grow, scale, and feel truly at home in their careers. And this is just the beginning
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life would be pretty boring if the road was always smooth, right? I’ve learned that the challenges are where the real growth happens.
One of the biggest struggles has been balancing business ownership with motherhood—especially when my kids were little. Having to call in sick and reschedule clients was tough, and there’s only so much flexibility people have before it starts to impact the business. On top of that, I dealt with the usual ‘mom guilt,’ ‘wife guilt,’ and the constant feeling of needing to be everything to everyone.
Then came COVID, which was absolutely terrifying for small businesses like mine. But one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that sometimes, the hardest part isn’t the external challenges—it’s getting out of your own way. Finally embracing growth, stepping into my full potential, and pushing past my own limitations has been an amazing transformation.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
hree Little Birds Aesthetics is a boutique suite rental studio, thoughtfully designed to feel like home—for both our clients and our ‘flock’ of talented professionals. We’ve carefully curated a team and atmosphere that are warm, welcoming, and truly supportive.
Personally, I specialize in skincare services ranging from Brazilian bikini waxing to advanced anti-aging treatments like microneedling, dermaplaning, and chemical peels. I also use a private skincare line, JCM Skin Care, which is small-batch made right here in Centennial, CO. This allows us to extend our commitment to clean, effective skincare beyond the treatment room and into our clients’ daily routines.
At Three Little Birds Aesthetics, we believe beauty is for everyone, and it all starts with self-care. Our mission is to make high-quality beauty and wellness services accessible and affordable—without compromising on quality. More than just a studio, we’ve created a sanctuary where clients can feel comfortable, confident, and heard.
One of the things I’m most proud of is our rebrand from ‘Wax and Skin by Jess’ to Three Little Birds Aesthetics. This evolution has opened up so many new possibilities—from expanding our service offerings to creating opportunities for other professionals to grow within our space. We’ve also introduced membership options that support ongoing self-care, offering perks like priority booking, discounts on services and products, and more.
It’s all about building a community where beauty, self-care, and connection go hand in hand
What are your plans for the future?
The next big plan for Three Little Birds is a studio redesign that fully reflects our vision. We’re creating a space that feels more cohesive with our brand—think vibey, darker, cozier, and even more welcoming. We want you to step inside, take a deep breath, and instantly feel at home. A place where you can slow down, be present, and feel completely supported. Our signature scent included in every breath! <3
